Volunteer Clubs and Organisations
Many sports clubs in the UK would not be able to run without the help and support of volunteers, many of which take responsibility for various different roles just to ensure the club can survive and retain its members!
If you feel that your club would benefit from the help of volunteers and some additional support in the form of coach, officiator, administration or any other role you feel would support you, then this programme is for you!
We currently have volunteers who are involved in roles ranging from assistant coaches to website designers, website administrators, newsletter editors and much more! The programme is designed to ensure the volunteer receives appropriate support and development opportunities such as training courses, workshops and one off event experience plus the added benefit of receiving sporting merchandise and certificates on reaching certain milestones.
If your club or organisation would like to offer an opportunity to young volunteers and can meet the criteria set below, then please complete and return the placement registration form* to Amanda Shepherd at Sport Cheshire
Criteria to become a club volunteer placement opportunity:
- The organisation must have a Child Protection Policy
- The Coach(es) must have a minimum of a Level 1 coaching qualification
- The organisation must identify a Volunteer Co-ordinator who will be supporting the volunteers during their placement.
Could you be a Volunteer Co-Ordinator?
A volunteer Co-Ordinator is a point of contact for the volutneer who is able to offer support and guidance and ensure that the volunteer continues to enjoy their experience of volunteering.
They are responsible for identifying any additional training needs that the volunteer may have to successfully complete their volunteering role and be the contact between the CSP and the volunteer. Their role will also involve verifying the volunteers hours so they can achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold Certificates!
