The Volunteering Programme
![]()
The Cheshire & Warrington sports volunteering programme incorporates the Step into Sport programme.
The main objectives are to encourage young people aged between 16 and 19 to become involved in sports leadership that will continue in later life, helping them to acquire the confidence, knowledge and skills they require. The programme helps to turn their own interests and aspirations into voluntary activity.
The programme is designed to support the volunteer to complete 200 hours of sports volunteering within either community clubs, leisure centres, sport development units, local authorities and private organisations. All young people can participate no matter their qualifications or skills. If you have an interest in sport and would like to become more involved, this is the programme for you.
The programme is coordinated centrally by a Volunteer & Workforce Development Officer in partnership with a range of individuals and organisations across different sectors of Cheshire & Warrington.
If you are interested in joining the Cheshire & Warrington Sports Volunteering Programme, please contact Amanda Shepherd on 01606 720 483 or download the Young Volunteer application form*.
