Clubmark within Athletics

England Athletics introduced the Clubmark accreditation programme as a method of examining, maintaining and improving the provision of athletics within England Athletics’ affiliated athletics clubs.

Building upon current good practice, Clubmark recognises the effort and achievement of those clubs that reach, maintain and improve on the required standard of a club committed to the athletics development for all regardless of age, ability or background.

As a nationally recognised award, Clubmark shows that a club provides a safe, effective and child-friendly environment. It enables parents and sports professionals to recognise an accredited club through a common quality kitemark. 

Clubs have a vital role to play in the development of young athletes. Clubmark will set the standard for an increasing network of athletics clubs providing good quality athletic programmes for young people.   

Within the Northwest there is also a Clubmark Plus grants scheme which is available to accredited clubs. A link to information on this is one the web address below:

Clubs within the Cheshire & Warrington Area

 

One of Britain’s most famous athletes of recent times, European, Commonwealth and World Champion, Paula Radcliffe originally comes from the area (Davenham, Northwich). There are a number of specialist athletics clubs in the Cheshire & Warrington area where children and adults can participate and aspire to reach Paula’s level in track and field events.

There is also information on clubs who are registered with UK Athletics within the Cheshire & Warrington area who have not currently reached clubmark status.
