Swim 21 Success

‘To complete the Swim 21 process, we had to look at, and analyse our systems, structures and performance in every aspect of the clubs activities… This has sharpened and focused our approach to one where the swimmer, not the club is the main focus.’

Barry Keeling, Chairperson - Winsford Amateur Swimming Club

'The Swim 21 process allowed the club to formalise a number of the areas of good practice we had already implemented. It also allowed the club to recognize areas for improvement which included using action plans, CPD training for our teachers and coaches, based on the present and future needs of the athletes at the club.'
Peter Fisher, Chairperson of City of Chester Swimming Club

There is currently a drive to support clubs with the new Swim 21 process that began in September 2006. Swim 21 is British Swimming's recognised quality mark which demonstrates that the club provides as safe and effective environment for children to reach their full potential within the sport. At the latest Swim 21 panel in August City of Chester Swimming Club were awarded accreditation at Teaching, Skill Development and Competitive Development levels. With this success City of Chester have joined Crewe Flyer ASC (Teaching), Ellesmere Port Amateur Swimming Club (Teaching & Skill Development), Warrington Amateur Swimming Club (Teaching) and Winsford Swimming Club (Competitive Development) as current holders of Swim 21 accreditation in the Cheshire and Warrington area.
