Workforce

Coaching

Workforce is a term that encompasses a range of people involved in making sport happen. This could include, for example: coaches, volunteers, assistants, club officials, and many more.

If you are responsible in any way for running sport, or providing others with an opportunity to participate in sport or physical activity, whether on a paid or voluntary basis, these pages will provide you with the essential information to ensure you are kept up to date with the latest news, events, training, and opportunities.

Workforce Development / Education in Sport

Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership utilises an online workforce management system called Coachweb. This can be accessed at www.coachingcw.org, and we recommend that all individuals involved in the running of sport in Cheshire and Warrington register on the website.

To find out more about the system, and how it can benefit you, click here.

Sport Specific Coach Education Courses

Whilst the partnership itself does not organise sport specific coach education courses, we do work with NGBs to ensure any courses being offered within Cheshire and Warrington, and the surrounding areas, are advertised and promoted to you. These courses can be found on our Coaching website www.coachingcw.org

As part of our work to ensure higher and more consistant standards of sports coaching and delivery, the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership has worked with local partners to create guidance documents to support those working in coaching locally. Whilst there are three separate documents, we have worked hard to ensure, where possible, standards and expectations are aligned between the documents and therefore across Cheshire and Warrington.

Support for Coaches

Each of our local authorities has invested in a Club and Coach Development officer. These roles are part of Sport England's Community Investment Fund programme aimed at developing the club, coach and volunteer workforce. The Club Development Officers have had a huge impact so far, and coming into the final year of the role, we hope to continue this work and ensure a sustainable legacy is left.
