Modern Pentathlon

The Modern Pentathlon comprises of;
- pistol shooting,
- fencing,
- swimming,
- horse riding
- running.
Today, both men and women complete all five events of the Modern Pentathlon in one day. Youth events are completed over two or exceptionally three days. A points system for each event is based on a standard performance earning 1,000 points. The winner is the Pentathlete who has accumulated the most points after the five events.

Sport Factsheets
In June 2008, Sport England published detailed sport evidence packs, which bring together data from the first year of the Active People Survey, (APS 1) the Taking Part Survey, and Sport England's market segmentation.
These packs were prepared to help sport's national governing bodies develop their in their 2009-2013 plans but they also provide a detailed overview of sports facts relevant to all in the sports sector. Click here to view
