Alliance Executive

What is the Alliance Executive?

The Alliance Executive was established to provide expert sector advice (representative of the Partnership) and support to ensure the strategic direction of the Sports Partnership is managed effectively.

The Alliance Executive received nominations during the summer in 2005 from various different sectors to fill the representative roles agreed through the strategy consultation.

The different sectors represented within the Alliance Executive include:

  • A representative from each Community Sport Network
  • Higher/Further Education
  • PE & School Sport
  • Primary Care Trusts
  • Cheshire & Warrington Culture & Leisure Officers
  • Children & Young People Strategic Partnership Board
  • National Governing Bodies of sport
  • Sport England
  • Sport Cheshire

Once the nominations were received they were then endorsed by the North West Regional Sports Board.  The first meeting took place in mid October 2005.  The initial priorities for the Alliance Executive for the members were:

  1. The development of a memo of understanding for the Partnership
  2. Clarification of the roles and responsibility between the Sport Cheshire Board and the Alliance Executive
