Women's Sport and Fitness Foundation

Women's Sport and Fitness Foundation Conference read more.....

Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (WSFF)  is the recognised expert in understanding how to make physical activity part of all women’s lives, and the lead commentators on women’s sport. 2008 saw WSFF establish the Commission on the Future of Women’s Sport, a government-backed initiative to progress leadership, investment and profile for women’s sport as well as launch Creating a Nation of Active Women , the first national strategy looking at how to tackle the crisis in women's physical activity.

Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation North West (WSFF NW) believes the Region has a lot to offer in meeting the challenge presented through the national strategy and wants to make sure that the North West plays its part, leading the way in engaging more women & girls in sport and physical activity creating a real ‘step-change’ across the Region.

Aimed at:      Anyone involved in the delivery and operational or strategic management of sport & physical activity opportunities from various parts of the sector including Education, Community Sport (LAs, SPAAs, and Trusts etc), Health, NGBs and County Sport Partnerships and more…

The purpose: To bring everyone up to date with the challenge set out by Women’s Sport and Fitness Foundation (WSFF) ‘Its time’ report and the exciting national strategy ‘Creating a nation of active women – A framework for Change’, investigating how we as a region can start to make a real difference by actively engaging more females in sport and physical activity.

This is a huge agenda and the event is very much about harnessing the expertise of the sector to identify how we as the North West can work together to put the Region at the forefront of developing a culture where females see sport and physical activity as a beneficial and integral part of their lives, making ‘active attractive’.
