Sandbach Striders 10k race and family fun run
Sandbach Striders are gearing up for their annual 10k and family fun races.
The races will take place at Elworth Cricket Club on Sunday 14th September (10.30am).
Cate Davies, race committee member, says “As a club we encourage people to get fit or fitter and welcome all ages and abilities to take part in this community event, which has been backed by local businesses in Sandbach.”
The family fun run starts at 10.30am, and will involve two laps of the cricket club grounds with runners finishing by the main race clock. Prizes will be awarded to the first two to cross the finish line and there will be spot prizes and medals for everyone that enters. In addition, there will be a colouring-in competition, and a prize will be awarded to the best entrant.
This will be followed by the 10k multi-terrain race at 11am, which offers prizes to the first three male and female competitors to finish – including the winner of each vet category. Prizes will also go to the first male and female Sandbach resident to finish. A state of the art time-keeper will help to record race times accurately on the day.
“The main aim is to have fun and everyone is really looking forward to taking part – we are hoping for a big turn-out on the day.”
