Safeguarding - post standards framework

Most County Sports Partnerships and National Governing Bodies have now achieved the advanced Safeguarding Standards or are well on the way to doing so.  However, safeguarding doesn't stop there and its important not to lose the momentum that has been achieved by organisations working towards the Standards.  The NSPCC are now consulting on the post-standards framework for safeguarding with the aim of introducing a new system in 12-18 months time.  The proposed system is based on self assessment, input from children and young people, and individual improvement plans based on local needs. It may be linked to funding from Sport England in the same way that achievement of the Safeguarding Standard was linked.
