Board of Directors/Trustees vacancies
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Board that is going places! Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership Trust Ltd is a charitable trust, tasked with working with partners to create strategic opportunities for sport and physical activity in Cheshire and Warrington. As an independent agency, the Partnership works closely with a wide range of organisations to achieve a variety of local objectives. Added to this, we have the unique opportunity of using London 2012 to inspire increased activity within our local area. The Sports Partnership is likely to play a key part in the emerging Sub-Regional architecture which is currently being developed by the Leadership Group of the three unitary authorities in the sub-region.
The activities of the Partnership are governed by a Board of Directors/Trustees. Our board members bring their wide range of skills, expertise and strategic thought to the table. They involve themselves in our work and drive our company to achieve increasingly better opportunities for the Partnership.
We are now looking to increase our Board membership, recruiting four new Directors / Trustees who can help us add value to the Board and assist in moving the Company’s business forward. Specifically we would like to hear from people with expertise in either the Third Sector or PR and Marketing, who could increase the representational role for our National Governing Bodies or help with networking and opening up of new business and strategic opportunities. Ideally you would be operating at a Directorate / Executive level.
These positions, although unpaid, have full voting rights and full legal directorship responsibilities. In terms of time commitment, they require attendance of up to 5 scheduled board meetings per year, plus one or two extraordinary meetings. Each requires some preparation and reading time. Some additional work or research in the area of specialty may occasionally be requested.
The appointments will be for period of three years and are subject to annual review. Although the positions are voluntary, travel expenses are met.
