Sports Clubs in Cheshire and Warrington are being given a head start in the race to increase awareness and confidence in responding to concerns if they should arise.

Children have the right to enjoy their sporting activities in a safe environment – to have fun and be safe.  Sports organisations also recognise their responsibilities to be alert to concerns about children’s welfare and protection in the wider community.  Sports organisations have put in place child protection policies and procedures to ensure that everyone knows what to do if they have a concern; safe recruitment practices for those working with children; and codes of conduct for all. It is therefore vital that everyone working with children, or responsible for children’s activities, is given access to opportunities to increase their awareness and confidence in responding appropriately should concerns arise.  

 

The Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership in conjunction with Sports Coach UK have a number of courses scheduled for 2009:

 

26^th February 2009 - Warrington

3^rd March 2009 -  Winsford        

5^th March 2009 -  Congleton       

30^th March 2009 - Crewe
