Rising Stars
In 2011 six athletes received funding as Rising Stars and a further three athletes were funded in 2012.
The Rising Stars programme for 2013 is now open for applications. Each athlete who is successfully awarded Rising Star status will receive £500 towards their training and other associated costs.

PROSPECTIVE SPONSORS & DONATIONS
The Rising Stars programme relies on the financial support from individuals and organisations through either donations or sponsorship.
If you want to help an up-and-coming Cheshire and Warrington athlete achieve their dreams, help build pride in the County and get a great deal of benefits in return? If the answer is yes, you can donate towards the Sport Cheshire Rising Stars programme, which helps young athletes achieve their sporting dreams.
We have some very talented young sports people in Cheshire and Warrington and we are trying to build a sports system across the Partnership which will allow those who become successful to look back on their early stages and remember that organisations and companies in Cheshire & Warrington recognised their talents and supported them along the way.
Managed by Sport Cheshire, bursaries are awarded to performers who are competing for the Home Countries (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) or Great Britain, or have the potential to do so within 18 months.
As we continue to build on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this scheme, set up by Sport Cheshire, supports top Cheshire and Warrington athletes aiming to compete at international events such as the Olympics, Paralympics or a World Championships. There is a small pool of young athletes competing at a high level who require a small amount of financial support at this early stage of their career.
Your support is an invaluable contribution towards a grant that goes towards the cost of training, travel and equipment.
If you or your organisation/business is able to support an athlete outright (£500), you will get:
• Have an athlete assigned to you for one year
• A photograph and press release
• Two guest appearances by your Rising Star
• Use the athlete's name and profile in your promotional material
• Have regular updates from the athlete about their progress
• Certificate acknowledging your support
In addition you may receive:
• An invitation to training and events.
• An opportunity to have your logo on the athlete's training kit (at additional cost).
