The Journey of the Paralympic Flame

Cheshire West and Chester Council celebrated the start of the Paralympic Games by holding a range of celebratory events across the bank holiday weekend. Thousands of residents turned up in Ellesmere Port, Chester, Northwich and Winsford to see the Paralympic flame and participate in a range of sporting activities.

Thirty one inspirational flame bearers were selected to carry the Paralympic Flame in a relay from Sainsburys in Cheshire Oaks to West Cheshire College. The Paralympic flame bearers are listed below;
