Sports Awards 2006
The Sports Awards are an annual event coordinated by Sport Cheshire on behalf of the Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership. The evening recognises the hard work and development of excellence of the many volunteers, coaches and partners working across Cheshire and Warrington.
The event was held on Monday 2nd October at the prestigious Mere Golf and Country Club, Knutsford.
Winners of the Community Club Award will be invited to and automatically
nominated for the BBC North West Sports Awards which are to be held later in
the year.
PARTNERSHIP SPORTS AWARDS 2006: Approximately 185 people attended the fourth Annual Sports Awards at at the prestigious Mere Golf & Country Club, Knutsford on Monday 2nd October 2006.
The Awards evening was a great success, 30 nominees from a number of different sports were honoured for their hard work and dedication over the past year.
DEE 106.3FM compered the evening and Steve Parry, Olympic Medallist provided an inspiring speech before presenting the Awards in the following six catergories:

Special Recognition Award
Local sports people of all ages attended the the ceremony to either pick up awards or congratulate their friends on their success - and with 6 Awards given out, there were happy faces all around.
