The evening was hosted by Steve Parry - Olympic Bronze Medalist in Swimming (Athens 2004) and one of only three people to ever beat the American swimming sensation Michael Phelps.

Guest speaker was Jamie Andrew, a Scottish mountaineer who had his hands and feet amputated following a horrific accident in the French Alps, and he paid tribute to all of the people that support sports opportunities for all, giving freely of their time.

In addition to the awards presentation guests enjoyed a sumptuous 3 course sit down meal and a raffle of sporting memorabilia which included a signed Sale Sharks T-Shirt and Mascot Package, a Warrington Wolves signed Ball, a 2 night stay at a Hayley Hotel (courtesy of Cranage Hall) plus lots more. The raffle raised over £500 which will be used to support and develop young sporting ambassadors across the County.

Michelle Carney, Chief Executive Officer of Sport Cheshire commented that the awards dinner is an ideal opportunity to celebrate the successes in sport across the county and a chance to say thank you to all the unsung heroes contributing to the development of sport. Our coaches, officials, volunteers and clubs are the driving force behind sport development, ensuring that people have the opportunity to experience sport at it’s best…
