Inclusive Clubs Grants Programme Launched

 

English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) is pleased to announce a new small grants programme to support local clubs develop inclusive sporting provision.

 

The inclusive clubs grant scheme has been developed in partnership with the Coalfield Regeneration Trust and will focus upon coalfield regeneration area within the North and Midlands areas.

 

The scheme which brings over £50,000 of investment into inclusive sport provision focuses on the Coalfields priority sports of Athletics, Football, Rugby and Cricket; as well as multi sport clubs focusing on these sports. Grants of up to £1000 are available to help clubs develop an accessible and inclusive environment by providing much needed funds to support club development, volunteer training and equipment.

 

Eligible projects should have spent the grant prior to 31st March 2011, with priority given to groups who have not previously received a micro grant from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust previously.  The closing date for the first set of application is 23rd April 2010.

Free Training Available for Volunteers

The Advocacy and Activity Buddy on line training is aimed at anyone wishing to support disabled people to access sport and physical activity within a club, group or leisure centre. The training is free of charge to complete and can be done at your own pace. For more information click here.

 

Launch of the Inspire to Lead Resource

The Inspire to Lead Resource was created to help increase volunteering and leadership opportunities for disabled people. The resource is a result of partnership work with EFDS in the East Midlands, Sports Leaders UK, Youth Sport Trust and Sport England. A copy of the resource will be distributed in the near future to every school sport partnership, national governing body, national disability sport organisation as well as county sports partnerships and local authority sports development units. Caudwell Children Enable Sport Programme

The Caudwell Trust is inviting applications for the Enable Sport Programme. The scheme provides specifically designed sports equipment to enable disabled children and young people to participate in sport. Applications must be made on behalf of a particular child as donations cannot be made to sporting organisations. For more details click here
