Disability Sport

The Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership strives to break down the barriers and make sport accessible for all.  Through the work of the Sports Development Officer (Disabilities) and partner agencies, we aim to empower people with disabilities to be involved in sport at all levels, increase the range and quality of sporting opportunities, and develop sporting pathways at a Local and County Level, aligning with the Regional and National events.

Recently we produced the ‘Disability Sports Directory 2006 – 2007’ which can be downloaded by  clicking here

Alternatively you can contact your local Sports Development Officer and request a copy of the booklet in paper form.

The directory aims to provide you with up to date information on the current provision of sporting activities for children, young people and adults with disabilities in each Local Authority. It also highlights additional sports related opportunities for all, such as volunteering, coach education courses and events.

Sport Cheshire has also registered itself in Count Me In – the EFDS campaign to help channel more resources into Disability Sport.  They aim to get as many individuals and organisations as possible to register their support for disabled people having equal access to sport, fitness facilities and recreational activities.
