These new roles are part of Sport England’s Community Investment Fund programme aimed at developing the club, coach and volunteer workforce.

 

There is a further post to commence in Warrington which has still to be appointed (Any queries in the meantime should be directed to Clive Jones 01925 444119.  

 

The main aims of the roles are:

o        Increasing the number of qualified coaches in community clubs.

o        Increasing the number of active volunteers in community clubs.

o        Assisting clubs to achieve the Club Mark Accreditation Award.

o        Identify and put in place coach development courses.

o        Identify opportunities for school age leaders to link to a club environment.

o        Establishing action plans with clubs to continue

development opportunities.

Coaches need to keep up to date with the way they coach. The Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership offers all coaches the opportunity to access a whole range of training courses and workshops. These include Governing Body Awards and general coaching workshops such as those run by sports coach UK and runningsports.

  Coach & Club Education workshops

All of our workshops are organised through Cheshire and Warrington Sports Partnership and Local Authorities in partnership with sports coach UK, runningsports and a number of First Aid organisers. We aim to offer a wide variety of workshops to help clubs, coaches and volunteers develop and keep up to date with topics such as child protection, disability, equity, mentoring, communication, funding and fitness. All workshops are tutored by accredited tutors. All attendees will receive up to date knowledge surrounding the topic area, as well as receiving resources (where applicable) and the chance to express any concerns/issues they may have. 

Clubmark Clubs - Minimum Operating Standards

All clubs working towards Clubmark accreditation must attend, if they haven't already, the following workshops:

  • Good Practice & Child Protection Workshop
  • Equity in Your Coaching Workshop
  • A Club For All
  • A First Aid course
