What does Jackie do?

Jackie leads the sports partnership and manages the CSP.

Given that the CSP is responsible for leading the Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership, Jackie works on behalf of the various organisations involved to set the overall direction for the partnership. This involves leading the development and delivery of the partnership's strategy. She works closely with a wide range of partners within not only Cheshire and Warrington but also outside the sub-region. This includes Sport England, CSPN, Skillsactive, and the North West Development Agency

In relation to the CSP, Jackie's main task is to ensure the successful planning, development and delivery of the company's business plan. Given the company is a charitable trust, she spends a proportion of her time not only managing the company but also advising the Directors to enable the Board to fulfil its governance function.
Jackie liaises with a wide range of local partners, not all of whom are from the field of sport. For example, as the 2012 champion for sport and physical activity, Jackie works closely with her colleagues in culture, the visitor economy and business. What did Jackie do previously?

Jackie joined the Partnership in March 2009. Previously she worked in Higher Education as both Head of Department and Programme Leader on a range of postgraduate and undergraduate sport courses in English and Welsh universities. During this time, she also worked freelance as an education advisor which included work for an awarding body within the 14-19 sector. This extended to her writing unit specifications for the new 14-19 Diplomas (including Sport and Active Leisure).

Jackie has worked with a variety of local authorities - both as a freelance consultant; undertaking service needs assessment, best value reviews, option appraisals for contracting out of sports management facilities and the auditing of parks and green spaces - as well as a council employee, doing everything from Duty Manager to client manager under 'CCT'.

Memorable Sporting Moment:
Either 2005, when Ellen MacArthur completed her single-handed round-the-world voyage in record-breaking time or 2009, when Ireland claimed their first Grand Slam in 61 years to win the Six Nations Championship.
