The Commission
Sport sits within the Cultural and Visitor Economy Commission, one of seven commissions formed as part of a restructuring of the 'sub-regional architecture' by the three local authorities. The overall aim of this new architecture is to unleash the huge potential for Cheshire & Warrington.
The CSP represents the sport sector within the Commission. We work closely with Visit Cheshire and Chester, who represent Tourism and Cheshire West and Chester council, who represented the Cultural offer. Other members of our commission include representatives from the North West Cultural Improvement and Efficiency Network, Museum Libraries and Archives, Sport England and Vision and Media - and the three local authorities of course, as they are driving the new commissions.
We have been busy behind the scenes identifying the key objectives and the priority activities that cut across the work of the three sectors. This has been documented in a sub-regional business plan that indicates how each priority will be addressed, sets a timescale for the next three years, and provides an indication as to how we will take things forward. The plan also sets out how the Commission's work links in to the other sub-regional commissions and to the wider objectives of the sub-regional business plan. As soon as we get the heads up on the submitted plan, we'll post it online - so keep checking this website!
