National Organisations

The CSP works with a wide variety of national organisations including:

The English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS)

Launched in 1998 the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) is the umbrella organisation for disability sport in England. Its mission is "To be the united voice of disability sport seeking to promote inclusion and achieve equality of sporting opportunities for disabled people."

EFDS is supporting clubs in the disability sport player pathway through the creation of Clubmark for disability sports clubs. Recently the CSP awarded Northwich Multi Sports Club, an inclusive sports club that caters for disabled and non disabled people, using the EFDS Clubmark criteria. This crietrai was developed for multi sport and single sport disability clubs. Northwich Multi Sports Club is only the second such club nationally to successfully achieve this award and the first in the North West.

sports coach UK is a charitable organisation and is the lead agency for development of the UK Coaching System.

The CSP interacts by offering sports coach UK workshops in our area. This includes:

  •  Safeguarding and protecting children
  •  Equity in your coaching

These workshops are held on a regular basis at locations around the Partnership through the CSP’s coach education programmes

Funded by Sport England and supported by sports coach UK, the 49 County Sports Partnerships across the country are currently recruiting dedicated roles that reflect the importance that is being placed upon coaching by government and the major funding partners.

The Coaching Development Manager will have responsibility for managing the development of a local Coaching Support Network to support coaches at community level in response to identified need. Working closely with the Governing Bodies of Sport and key regional and local partners the Coaching Development Manager will support the development of an effective and sustainable coaching system at a local level that will be seen as world leading.

Sporting Champions  www.sportingchampions.org.uk

Sporting Champions is a Sport England initiative, which brings world-class athletes face-to-face with young people to inspire and motivate them to participate in sport.

The scheme has been aligned with the new strategy, specifically focusing on the Five Hour Offer, contributing mostly towards supporting Sport Unlimited targets. The aspiration is for the Champions to be able to build long-term sustainable relationships with young people and their sporting network to support CSPs with their targets of raising participation in semi-sporty young people.

A limited number of CSP’s have been offered the opportunity to participate in this scheme as part of their Sport Unlimited programme for further details of current Sporting Champions within our area please click here. Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership is one of the 18 CSP’s selected to participate in the scheme.
