Visa Paralympic World Cup
Macclesfield SSP Inclusion Group
The newly formed Macclesfield
SSP multi-sports inclusion group recently organised a trip to the Visa Paralympic World Cup event in
Manchester. They attended the wheelchair basketball ladies final between
Spain and
Japan. The children were treated to an exhibition of fast flowing basketball by the Japanese team who comfortably defeated the Spaniards by 50 points to 17. It was a great day out enjoyed by all, the children especially enjoyed adding to the atmosphere by producing constant noise by bashing together the inflatable tubes provided courtesy of Visa!
The group’s next event will be held at
Poynton
High School on the morning of May 24th when taster sessions are going to be offered in a range of martial arts and trampolining. The group will be joined on the day by their “Sporting Champion “ Sarah Bailey, fresh from her double Gold medal cycling successes in the 2km pursuit and 500m-time trial at the Visa Paralympic World Cup .
