PEOPLE Objective: To create great opportunities for our sports volunteers, coaches and athletes across Cheshire & Warrington.
• Deliver the People strand of the Olympic Legacy programme:
- Work with local providers to support volunteers aged 16 and over in accessing quality placements
- Organise and deliver workshops to inspire volunteers through 2012
• Use the Games Maker programme to get more people to volunteer for sport locally:
- Organise a series of volunteer 'fairs' for partners to access new volunteers
• Deliver an increase in the number and quality of coaches in Cheshire and Warrington:
- Develop a comprehensive coach database system
- Provide needs-led information on training, information and opportunities to coaches
- Increase the number of coaches accessing education opportunities
• Identify and support our aspiring athletes:
- Deliver the Rising Stars athlete scheme
